Golden Snitch

Golden Snitch

This is a cool, easy prop to make.  I'm sure that it will look awesome in any Harry Potter collections.

Materials Needed:

-Modelling clay (any colour)
-Golden sparkles
-Hot glue + Glue gun
-Craft leaves (like the ones used in Lacewing Flies in a Bottle)
-X-Acto knife
-White or silver paint

1.  Roll a ball out of modelling clay.  size does not matter, so use your preferred size.  Start by putting on a small patch of hot glue onto the ball of modelling clay.  Dip the patch of glue into a bowl of golden sparkles before it dries.

2.  Finish covering the ball with sparkles, by continuing to make the patches of glue, and dipping them into the sparkles.  I found that if the patches had bumps, and were uneven, you had to just smooth/shape the glue with our finger after you dipped it in golden sparkles.  it should look like this when you have covered it all:

3. Se aside your gold sparkle covered modelling clay ball.  Grab two craft leaves, and cut off one side of the leaf, leaving the other half, and the middle stem.  Cut off the excess stem at the bottom as well.

4.  Paint the craft leaves white.  I like these particular leaves, because once they dry, all of the little lines remain.  You can buy a different type of craft leaf, if you do not care for this look.  Once the leaves have dried, glue them onto the golden modelling clay ball.  Voila!
